As I've explained in my previous post the U2311H is one of the weaker models he's considering for image vibrancy. If you're considering a monitor with an sRGB colour gamut, accurate colour reproduction, 'normal' contrast and a heavy matte anti-glare coating then unfortunately image vibrancy is not one of the strong points. The U2311H has an image that many would call 'washed out' (despite this being quite an incorrect term for the natural and well-balanced image it produces). It has a nice variety of shades, the colours are generally very consistent and pretty accurate but they are not particularly vibrant. Vibrancy has more to do with contrast and levels of colour saturation than it has to do with brightness - if you are simply increasing the light output of muted colours it doesn't make them any more vibrant and can actually have the opposite effect. Having tested and supplied over 30 U2311Hs to various institutions I've got a pretty good idea of how they compare to other monitors on this front.
