I've got Windows 7 on a SATA drive and just bought a 64GB M4.

I'd like to partition the M4 into two - to reinstall Windows and to use as a cache for other files e.g. games.

Is this possible/ sensible?

Where can I find a definitive guide? I've searched but not found one.

thanks

I looked into this a while back as an option, I believe it was something like so:

1. Install windows to a seperate drive, setup your partition on the SSD for both OS and SRT.
2. Install/Setp SRT on the partition you require
3. Reinstall windows, this time selecting the left over partition on the SSD.

This is from memory btw, but I did read it by a member on here, possibly the same post welshdragon is thinking of.

This method is required seemingly due to SRT not actually being on a visible (accessible) drive once installed, so once windows is installed the SRT partition exisits already without making your SSD disappear from windows.

Had a very bad day trying to sort this out!

I cannot get Win 7 install to see the SSD if ANY other drives are connected. I also have to insert a usb stick with the intel raid drivers on to see the SSD, and can then install.
However. when I connect my HDDs it seems to try ot boot from the SSD but boots from the HDD.
If I then disconnect the HHD and reboot it fails saying 'reboot and select proper boot device etc.'
WTF? is going on? Could by SSD be faulty?

HELP!!!
