I reckon Manchester United will win the 2006 Premiership

yep not a bad move. get rid of scholes too...

then somehow we have to find a budget to buy 4 decent center mids...s

edit:

quote from PF:

"We have a lot of good, young players in his position, so we are not going to be renewing his contract."

NOoooooooOOOOO!!!

which young players do we have in his position? why havent we been playing them in his position all this season then?!

Can't see it myself.

Even if MU win all their remaining games (unlikely) - including beating Chelsea - the Blues only need 12-13pts from their other 6 matches. You'd have to fancy them to beat Everton and WH at home, and also Brum away. Which would leave them needing only 3-4pts from games vs Blackburn, Bolton and Newcastle - easily within Chelsea's capabilities over the past 2 years.

Even if my predictions are wrong about how well Chelsea do in their games, MU are just as likely to falter in some of theirs (e.g. vs Arsenal and Chelsea)

It's still Chelsea's to lose but if the nerves get the better of them then we're there where we need to be. It's been a couple of years since I've seen United this focussed. The senior players have bee in this situation before (all-be-it not quite as tight) and will keep the younger ones mentally prepared.

Man U win and chelsea drew (Which was unexpected to say the least :p)

They do actually have a chance, if man u can beat chelsea in their game and a couple of other results go their way

I cant see it happening either, i mean we have got arsenal next and they are playing very well at the minute and i fear that they are going to turn us over unless we play at our very best. Even tho chelsea have falltered lately i cant see them throwin the title away.

All it'll take is Chelsea to lose maybe two more matches between now and the end of the season and for us to beat them. That would, however, mean we'd need to win every match from now to the end of the season. Arsenal aren't exactly looking like an easy side to play these days.

We always turn up and play Arsenal and it wont be any different this year

When it really matters we always turn Arsenal over

They have had a good march in which they have had three consequtive home league games and the only team of note they have beaten is liverpool 2-1.

Which is keeping with the rest of their season, brilliant at home, beatable away.

Nothing has changed, they beat portsmouth at home 4-0 they go on to go 2 away without scoring, they beat middlesborough at home 7 nil, they get beaten by Everton and West ham.
United will have too much for them.

I doubt United will win this season, its just too late for a late surge if you get me, if they started with this hunger in january maybe and the gap was a bit less than it would be doable but I just cant see Chelsea slipping that far.

As for the United Arsenal match, the mentality of Arsenal is a lot like the Liverpool of last season, turd in the league and storming in the CL so I dont think it should be too much of a problem for us to beat them providing Fergie doesnt do something stupid like giving Fletcher anymore than about 6 minutes.

However, you could say that the situation is a bit like the situation like last year when we cained Arsenal at Highbury, i.e. recently improving form and we could be in for a bit of a pasting.

The only thing thats gonna stop Chelski though is themselves, a team like that should have no excuse in drawing to a team like Birmingham when the Brums cant exactly be up on confidence. Mourinho is gonna have a dilemma this summer, either buy a load more players and further take the meaning away from "team-building" or risk keeping with the same mould and people adapting too much to their style of play.

Do you actually watch the games? Or do you just look at scorelines? Arsenal are playing the best football of they year right now, period, and any non-biased and open minded person will agree.

Although in my thread here, I have put my feelings out about Man U winning the prem this year - I didnt once say they will beat my beloved Arsenal.
Man U can afford to lose to Arsenal and still win the Premiership 2006 title, do you know why? Becuase Chelsea are not going to win it, again, its just my feelings.
Chelsea were terrible against Birmingham yesterday but come to think of it, the last game I saw Chelsea play decent football was against Colchester in the FA cup, that's not harsh, that's a factual opinion coming from someone who watches football to be entertained by professional players who hustle and work as a team and a unit.....This is NOT what Chelsea do.
They have a manager with a poor public attitude, who always pressures and over-rules officials and his attitude has filtered through to his players.
Not only do I believe Chelsea will fail to win it this year, I want them to.

How odd, hustling & working as a unit is the only thing we have been doing recently & the only reason we aren't getting beaten every week. If you had said Chelsea have not had any creativity or passion these past 8 weeks or so then I would've agreed with you:)

Sorry...I should have made my post clearer then.
Hustling & working as a team & unit is the only thing Chelsea have been doing 'of late', that's the only reason we aren't getting beaten every week as we are clueless in the final 3rd when in possession. :)
