I saw Tool in Manchester (MEN) on Friday...

As amazing as Maynard is, I'd rather see Danny Carey on the drums and by the looks of those photos it looks like he had a killer view. Never seen Tool live myself but its must be awesome watching Carey do his stuff, one of my all time favourite drummers!
I prefer the view of Danny you get from the audience, just to the right, so you can see through his left kick drum.
I still don't understand how his hihat pedal works.
It seems to have two modes, a normal one, and one where it works in reverse, lifting the top cymbal when he presses down.

I wouldn't sacrifice a view of maynard though, his dancing during Stinkfist when i saw them on the 9th was awesome

My friend was taken ill, so they ushered us to the VIP area whereby we watched the rest of the concert...

i'm shocked you managed to take pictures
or are they just off your phone?
i properly killed my leg searching people all night

Ha! Security was well tight in there! I almost got stinkfisted for trying to take a pic with my phone and I was in the middle of the standing crowd!!!!

At Manchester a guy sat next seat but one to me got removed by a guy in a yellow jacket, no idea what for either. Fortunately me and my friends didn't get kicked out for our crimes!

went to see them in London a few months ago and got there at 9pm.... they had started bang on 8:30pm, why I do not know ??

the only people who got kicked out my door were for being drunk
i imagine there were a few who got taken to the concourse for taking photos

it is indeed a possibility
which doors did you come in?

Hmm, I don't know Manchester or the MEN well, but we got searched up some steps outside then entered through loads of glass doors. After the gig, we came out of the wrong side and ended up going under a tunnel?

Inside, we were in block 114, row L according to the ticket - some dude with a mohawk and pony tail ushered us to our seats.

Nice pics CBS. Shame the drumkit was obscuring your view of Maynard! Does that guy ever come forward?

Not much, but my friend got a good look at him as he walked past us after the performance...

Haha, Tool were all waving to everyone in the VIP area as we gave a standing ovation to them.

Yeah, but at first no-one seemed to care what people in the VIP were doing... guys were standing up and 'dancing', smoking and putting their feet up and everything. I used a K800i so I got good quality phone shots. I must have taken about 8 photos at various points, and it was only near the end of the concert that the security guys were getting prang and starting to shine lights at me for taking the odd photo

Off to Notts to see them on Friday, saw them in Hammersmith earlier in the year where they were great, but was disappointed not to hear any Wings stuff from 10,00 Days so very excited by the prospect of seeing it this time. Now to persuade the boss to let me have friday off work.... :(

Hey G-pie!

I'm going to the same gig, maybe see you there. You going in uniform? :p

Saw them last night (Thurs) at the CIA in Cardiff.

Awesome show. Rates right up there with my top fave gigs including Zeppelin, The Tubes and Springsteen.

Alas I shall not see your bouffant hair :(
Was working today and couldn't get the day off, then when I left there had been an accident on the M-way and I'd not have gotten there in time so my friend who has both our tickets is going to sell mine and go alone, really miffed cos I know they aren't gonna be back for ages and really wanted to hear their more atmospheric stuff live :(

I've just got home from watching Tool at the Nottingham Ice Arena, and i have got to saw...wow, just amazing. :D

It's up there with my all time favourite gigs.

Was at Notts tonight... Again it didn't blow me away. I don't think I'll ever enjoy Tool live, as people wailing the lyrics so loud you can't hear Maynard and having conversations during Wings for Marie kind of ruins it for me :(
