Basically i got an email on my blackberry from [email protected] saying the password for my email was no longer valid and i wouldnt receive emails so i had to change my password. This email is sent when the blackberry cannot receive your emails because the password has been changed apparently.

This happened to my flatmates girlfriend the other week and she found she couldnt log into hotmail as someone had changed her password and she also got her facebook hacked. then some weirdo pretended to be her for a few weeks whilst she went through getting them back.

I received this same email on my blackberry a week or so after her and after seeing what happened to her was straight on the computer, could still log in to hotmail so changed my password and deleted my email account and its service books on the blackberry then re-added it with new password. This seem to work as everything carried on normally.

I then received this same email earlier tonight, and was without access to a computer for an hour after receiving it but when i got online i tried to do the same as before however i couldnt log into my hotmail as it said the wrong password has been entered too many times your account is unavailable. I click reset password, answered all my questions and info and managed to reset the password and get back in. Deleted the account off the blackberry and re-added again.

However this time in the hour after the blackberry told me my password was wrong some person has obviously tried to do stuff with my email account. When i got back in i had an email from paypal saying my account had been limited as they thought a 3rd party had accessed it, turns out my paypal password had been changed but i just reset that and logged in, no activity had taken place on the account.
Whoever did it wasnt very smart as even though there were no other new messages i checked the deleted section and sure enough there were deleted emails from paypal saying your password has been changed and also a deleted email from play that gave my account details as someone had requested them. I've logged into play and changed my password there aswell, he/she hadnt ordered anything if they had logged in.

So basically OcUK, wtf is happening? How can someone do that given that i have a different password for every single site on the internet. Surely they must have known my hotmail password to log into that, and then known my paypal password to log in and change that??
Could my blackberry have anything to do with it? Given i didnt log in and try change my password on the blackberry, i did it on my pc.

I have set up a new email account and have changed all the major sites that would have any personal or card details on to go to this new email. I will not be adding this email to my blackberry. Will i be ok after doing this?

If it's happening repeatedly then it's probably a keylogger, or you're extremely gullible to phishing.

My E63 tells me to update my password every 60 days I think.

MS make you do it so you may not have been hacked.
