Just an update in case people are interested, I got it yesterday (pretty rapid delivery, only ordered it Thursday). It was delivered via DHL and I didn't get charge any import tax or VAT on it so it really is a stonking bargain at £65.
First impressions - much better than expecting. The body is quite heavy, the finish is quite nice (looks thick so should take some abuse - good thing too as 5 minutes after getting it out the box my mate dropped it on his kitchen floor), the volume/tone pots are pretty solid and the pickup selector is much better than expected (though I was expecting the absolute worst). The scratchguard doesn't seem to fit properly, it seems to ride up and away from the body at the top which suggests whoever fitted it couldn't be bothered to do it properly!
The pickups aren't fantastic, but they're not toooo bad, I guess. Not massively bright, but they're fairly pokey and give off a reasonable sound. I'll be upgrading them anyway.
The neck is quite nice, but the frets are pretty rough and could do with smoothing out, or maybe just a frenetic bending session to smooth them out somewhat. I found that I was getting a lot of fine metal shavings coming it when I was playing last night, I'm guessing this was coming from the frets.
The bridge is a bit funny, it's easy to adjust the action, but maybe it's just a classic design I'm not familiar with but it just seems... rubbish. It does the job, but not very well. The strings each rest on their own saddle, which is basically just a cylindrical piece of metal with two screws that you adjust to raise the height. This is where the cheapness shows, but it's something that could always be changed.
All in all though for £65 it's definitely worth it, and with pickups, a new bridge and covering up off the god-awful logo on the headstock it will definitely be a keeper and a solid player.
