Why? Are you buying a car or a badge? Just buy a decent car as your first car, buying a shed just so you can tell everyone you've got a BMW seems pretty pointless.

A shed from <£250 upto a decent example around £1k - then anything and everything in between (and over of course!).

Whilst you can get a nice looking black E30 318 (non-IS) for around 700 quid (in good condition, without too much grot)....the real killer is the insurance.

They carry high premiums to say the least and I've always had difficulty getting reasonable prices for them (quoted on 318iS, 318, 325s as I almost bought one of each over the summer

).

So it's worth looking into that element first as you may find it totally unreasonable
