I want to like the 2DS XL/3DS...

but man, the screen is so awful.

Wtf are these scanlines going across the top screen? I'm pretty sure the original DS/DSi looks better than this.



I guess as tech-enthusiasts, what do you guys think?

There is a screen lottery associated with the 3DS range of handhelds. I got lucky and got one of the good screens with my New 3DS XL.

Personally I still really like the 2DSXL for the form factor and low price even if the hardware is a bit low rent. But then I'm a bit odd in that I preferred the 2DSXL to the 3DS range due to the lighter weight and better IMO ergonomics. In fact I had both for a time and I returned the 3DS XL as found it really uncomfortable to hold.

I haven't noticed any issues with my 2DSXL however I've not really looked that closely.

I picked up a 2DSXL last night as I wanted something a bit lighter than my current 3DSXL as I find the top screen wobbles a lot due to the weight, also access to the VC games is a bonus.
