I want to move to Mexico

The country and culture seem so amazing as well as its history. I have decided I want to move there, so am I mad?

I'm getting so bored of the Uk I just want to leave for different life that's so different to that of the UK.

I've never been to Mexico so I can't comment on what it's like.. Just do research till the cows come home, make sure you make the right decision!

I don't want to seem patronising, but have you really thought it through? Getting stressed with computers/mp3 players/microwaves/dvd players/fridges etc is a part of everyday life for most people, but I doubt they'd move thousands of miles away just to avoid the inconvenience. I know I miss my mod-cons when I'm away for any length of time.

Go for it. I used to know a bloke that spent many months working on a kibbutz. His life bascially revolved around picking fruit and he loved it. No phones, no cars, no police, no banks, no reality tv, no O RYL owls.

You do know that unless you're living in a slum you get all of the above except it's hotter, the language is different and you'll get called gringo?

Try Norfolk or the Outer Hebrides first, at least they will almost speak English and they are not built on sand in an earthquake zone.

Have you been there before? Someone already asked but I don't think you answered.

I'd suggest holidaying there a few times, in as many different areas of Mexico as you can, so you'll get an idea of whether you would actually like to live there from first hand experience and a list of actual areas of the country which appeal to you.

I like mexican food, and the ladiess (providing they're not overly hairy ) but there's no reason why you can't have the type of lifestyle I think you're interested in in this country.
