I want to record me gaming but.....

FRAPS is the most popular for game recording at the moment. Play around with the settings, I find recording half-size onto a different HD works quite well.

And richb93 you gave me an idea.

I have used a ramdrive for arma and it made a huge difference I may make a 2gb one and record me movie to that :).

Doubt that'll work. I can't speak for others, but FRAPS records the video uncompressed so there's minimal work involved for the CPU. The problem is that even 1024x768 video recorded at 30fps while uncompressed will create a huge file. I'd roughly estimate around 500Mb a minute?
 
Vhscrcap and works best if you play the games in windowed mode full screen kills fps

There is an even better one but it costs money cant recall name of it right now
 
Set video to half size, fps to 30, lower ingame resolution, turn off AA and set file to record on a seperate drive to the OS. Reason most screen capture software is so demanding because they're literally saving bitmaps of every frame and converting them into .avi on the fly. A faster harddrive also helps a lot.

Oh crap you play for Havoc I have watched loads of there vids.

Any ways an update I have tested FRAPS and it seems way better than PLAYCLAW so all I need to do is save some penny's and get it.

One thing though if I have the mic box checked in me FRAPS setting it is all ways recording the mic sound what I really want is for it to only record the sound from the mic when I press me PTT key the one I use to actually talk to me mates in game.

Other than that its great and thanks all.

Expect some vids :)
 
Oxy i like where you move forward from the Bunker and say " i pushed forward, cause i just did " in one of the vids had me cracking up.

I miss this game sooooo much.

So why not still play it then?.

If you want and if you have ARMA2 and OA play with me and me mates your welcome to.
The only problem we dont have a dedicated server and we use our normal home internet of 10MB fibre optic ans as you know its not the greatest upload speeds so will be real bad with more people.

playclaw 2.0 has the ability to set push to talk.
