I want to report a large hole in the road near where I live that is likely to rip a hole in someone's tyre any day now, but there's no road name. I can't look it up on Google maps as there is no addresses nearby from which to get a post code. I have looked on my Ordinance survey map, but that's no help either. The hole is near a kind of T junction, (more of a Y junction actually) but the other road has no name either.

Any ideas how I can report this on line to my local county council?

No, it's a road leading from one village to another, but many country roads don't seem to have names or numbers around here (Bucks.)

If it goes from village to village its rather unlikely its a private road. Root around in the hedgerow for a sign. :D

By that I mean a roadsign, not Jesus trying to tell you a story.

Yeah post the area and i'll have a look at some OS mastermap stuff at work tomorrow if you're still stuck.... Should be able to find out what it's called.

Google maps.

I took a screen shot of a road with no name that had problems earlier this year and sent it to my local council with a description of the problem (********* of pot holes).

Got a reply a few days later that they are investigating them, week after that they were filled.
Not too shabby.

Sorry, but that road name only applies to the bit of the road that is in the village, but thanks for trying.

My Satnav calls it "Road". :D

Not that this is much use given that Google maps would give you the same details.

Ordanance Survey themselves don't even bother to name it, though I can tell you that Rose Hill Farm and Redland Bridge is on it.

Try giving the council that info, might work. :o

I suggest we make an OCuk flag and you plant it in the middle of the road to claim it as our territory.

I reckon we could easy get it up to 90 from 60 without too much trouble although I think we should actually clock it down a bit on days when its watercooled.
