I've played stalker clear sky but hadn't completed it , however i feel it needs more work for a full playthrough. I did complete stalker original without mods so this time i decided to install..

Latest patch 1.5 ( 1.6 is just for MP )

It made for a much more enjoyable stalker original experience not only has all the graphics been overhauled so has the AI , weapons and sounds. I was walking through a storm with heavy rain , wind blowing and i heard this growling.. Suddenly out of the tunnels 5 angry mutant creatures attacked me , the lightning was flashing and i tried very hard to get away.

It even made me jump the first time i was attacked , as my health dropped i had to make it to the nearest outpost. I did and the local yob's rushed out to attack the mutants with the mutants attacking them and me. A couple of the guys ran out of ammo and tried to hide but alas they ended up dead.

If you haven't played the original stalker with these mods DO IT!

Any other graphics mods for Stalker that I should get? Given the amount of praise it's been getting with these mods I figured I should give it another try. Only played vanilla so far.

Also does the 0005 patch from the release version or do i need to apply all the patches up to it?
 
Just install patch 0005 , don't bother with 0006 it's just for MP and apparantly has caused problems in SP.

Other graphical mods? , not sure it looks nice as is with the mods above :D

EDIT: Seems that Patch 0005 is a MP only patch too.

These being the skygraphics one and the sharpened weapon textures right? ( got confused with sharpened texture's packs as i think those are for clear sky ) . Skip the blood splat link i posted just above you it messes with the game config files and probably conflicts with obl 2.2

Not bothering with sharper weapon textures, having a look at the images they just look far too messed around with.

I installed the SHARPER packs, all three of them, let's hope it doesn't mess up the game :)

You've got the wrong SHARPER textures there. Those are for Clear Sky. There is only ONE pack for Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl and it's a huge rar file of nearly one gig. SHARPER textures 0.95 I think it's called.
 
Damn this is good , i had another stalker for my companion however he was a fool , he didn't see the anomaly and went right into it. I saw his body being thrown about then he exploded a leg went one way , his rib cage went another.

Really wanted to like this game when it came out, but just wasnt impressed. Can't remember all the things I disliked, but performance was one, and what really killed it was this one dumping ground for cars early on when some bandits come after you - they just kept spawning and spawning.

Oh, there was also the excellent aiming of the NPC's whilst I couldn't hit a brick wall if it was 2 feet in front of me.

If I can pick this up for under £5, I might try it again with the mods above.
