i10 sick, guess the fault compo

My mate’s alpha 156, one of the 1.6 jobbies had a noise just like this and it turned out to be a fault code on a sensor, I think it was crank position but could have been lambda. He got the code cleared and the noise went away.

I would have sworn when he bought it over that it was bottom end issues but apparently I was very wrong, sounded like an old agricultural diesel to me.
 
well garage suspect big end bearing, though wont know till they drop sump tomorrow. They said crankshaft could also be trashed.

could be a long long job.....

Excellent, have they given you a decent courtesy car to drive around rather than another washing machine on wheels?

Sounds like quite a job to diagnose and rectify so you might not be lost to us yet :D
