i3 2120 and 5850 xfire

Hiya guys.

Been out the loop a while due to financial constraints but I'm looking to put together a bit of a cheapish rig for gaming etc.

I've got a i3 2120 and I've got the chance of a couple of 5850's for a decent price and I was just wondering if the i3 was up to the task of running them in xfire reasonably well.

1GB 5850s or 2GB?

If you are pushing the kinds of resolutions (1440p and up) needed to use up the VRAM on a 2GB card, then you might run into scaling issues in crossfire.

If you are staying at 1080p or below then you should be fine.

Only 1gb cards and the max res would be 1080p. I've an old plasma at the mo and the res on that is only 720p so it's not going to b much of an issue for just now then by the sounds of it. Cheers mate
