i5 750 @4Ghz 90c+ under water

Those settings definatley do not work for me XD

CPU hit 90c in the bench and shortly afterwards "an error was detected". See the graphs below for the results:

Just going to watch "Bourne Identity" so will try lowering Vcore after that.

Ah 8GB could be what's making it difficult. My settings might work with a bit more on vtt to account for the higher ram. But seems you'll have trouble keeping it cool - but shouldn't with that cooler. You need to clock down the RAM and maybe relax the timings and see if your problem is CPU or RAM.

I tried altering RAM timing when I had an FSB system but never figured out what everything did and how it all related to one another.

I just ran with a vcore of 1.368 and still received an error. I'm running the OCCT benchmark instead at the same settings to see if it will pass that. I have always found that Linpack benchmarks are pretty buggy and don't provide accurate results, but are great for making a toasty cpu.

What ram timings would you suggest?

For now just use a lower multi to get the MHz down - that should be sufficient to rule out RAM as a problem. My mobo has different settings for RAM like 'standard', 'turbo' etc, and the lowest one auto sets really slack timings.

Just passed a 1hr stress with a peak temp of 83c. Pretty certain it should be good to go now, I doubt temps would ever get that high under normal use.

If I get any BSOD's I'll post back.

Freq 4Ghz
Multiplier 20x
Bus 200Mhz
QPI 3608.8Mhz
RAM 1600Mhz
Vcore 1.36

If it stays stable for a few days I'll try going to 1.32v on the Vcore just to lower the temps. But then again soon as I get my next wage packet I might replace the stock fans the the CoolIT ECO.

I can't, my motherboard doesn't allow for user specific multipliers, only a pre-set list. x20 is the highest available....
