i5 750 vs 2500k, will it be an upgrade for gaming?

There's nothing on the market that would warrant an upgrade from an i5 750 for gaming, really.

I was in the same boat, decided that incremental GPU upgrades are the only viable option for gamers.

Hold out until Haswell, that will surely offer a much better performance improvement and should be out in 12-18 months.
