hi

i have jest purchased a new system comprising of:

core i5 -750
Zalman CNPS9900-NT CPU Cooler
4GB G.SKILL ripjaw pc 12800 1600mhz
msi p55-gd65
corsair vx 450w psu

when i first booted the rig into windows cpu stated that it was running @ 2807mhz

now i haven't even touched the bios at all yet everything is at stock in it, jest wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? is this damaging my processor? i realize ocing can reduce lifespan but say if i was to run this at 2.8 to 3.2 would it severely reduce the processors lifespan?

p.s. if i turn turbo off it goes to 2.67 as its rated speed :s dose turbo stay on cosntantly because cpuz states all 4 cores are @ 2.8

Had the same thing on mine until a friendly fellow popped up and told me i probably had it on turbo boost. guess thats standard.

Nothing to worry about !
