I'm considering a 3930k - so was attempting to follow your logic of a 3930k + UD3 being about the same price as a board like the Asus that would clock the 3820 well ??

I did get my 3930k at a really good price - that was what sealed the deal for me

I WILL aim for 5GHz down the line, even if I might not get all the way there, but for this weekend, I just want to relax :)

I have just stuck mine at 4.5GHZ and left it. These chips run very hot when pushed and I did not like the heat the CPU produced over this.
