*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Max / Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle

Hi,

Not sure if i'm posting this in the correct place (appologies if its not), but ive got a couple of questions regarding the above overclocked bundle that i'm hoping to buy:

a) Do you still get the same warranty period as you would if you purchased each item seperately?
b) It states that the system is built to order. Do you still get the original packaging that everything came in? (Obviously not bothered about all of the packaging but was thinking of the cables etc. that you'd get if you purchsed the packaged product)
c) Sorry, a complete novice question but what happens if the motherboard looses its overclocked settings?
d) When's the This Week Only going to end as i dont want to miss it if it finishes today

a) The consensus with overclocking and warranties is that overclocking voids them, but manufacturers never check. OcUK provide an additional 12 months warranty on the overclock, so if it fails, you can post here or call them.

b)95% sure you do. The processor probably comes installed into the board with an empty processor box.

c)You overclock it from scratch yourself, learning much in the process, or they sort it out for you. Don't update the bios or their settings will not be valid.

d)Wednesdays, I think around lunchtime. Might be off by a day on this.

Cheers :)

b) yes everything came with mine, including the CPU box for example.
c) the BIOS has a backup memory, on failure it restores it. You can dump the settings to a file and back it up too.

C) Well ive lost my profile on the same set up....havent got the time too learn overclocking and its proofing to be a bloody hassle retrieving them.

Back down to 3.2 using easy tuner 6 though. Still waiting for a response in the support forum...been over a week nothing so dont what ever you do loose your settings pal.

If you press F12 on the main screen in the BIOS, you should be able to select the 4GHz profile that OcUK saved for you in there.

However, if you have flashed your BIOS to another version, this profile will no longer exist.

Ive tried looking in the bios settings f12. I believe i have deleted by accident, because the oc profile is no longer there.
Im a numpty i know, but in the heat of the moment with no boot screen, not recognising hard drives and general flapping about during the constrution, i lost it for one sec.
If tried logging inot ocuk but password not recognised although email is. It says it sends a reminder to email , which it doesnt.
Im shafted.
