So I was previously looking into getting an i7 desktop and was well aware of the triple channel memory thing meaning you had to have 3, 6 or 12 gig of RAM.
Now I might get another laptop instead (dell studio xps 16 at the top of the list) with the mobile i7 processor. Does this not work on triple channel memory too? Many of these laptops have the option to have 4 gig of RAM, surely this is not right? The motherboards inside are often up to 8 gig of RAM which surely means it's not equipped for triple channel memory set up?
