Ian Brown (Unfinished Monkey Business) - recording quality?

I bought this when it first came out in 1997 and noticed the sound quality was crap. I was in HMV yesterday and it was on special so I bought another copy - exactly the same!

Is it just me being fussy? Dodgy batch? Anyone else know what I'm going on about?

It's just the way it was made. He played most of the instruments himself and the production quality wasnt brilliant either. It was a bit of a DIY effort to try and get back to basics i believe.

Just avoid those Seahorses

It looks like I'll be eBaying the 2nd copy I've got which I bought to replace the "dodgy" one
