Idea for 6 year old girl gift

I buy presents for my niece and nephew based on how annoying for their parents they would be. For instance, my nephew's 7 next month, so he's getting an electrically operated, belt fed, fully automatic Nerf machine gun. :D

Note; His uncle may or may not spend significant amounts of time "testing it" for him.
My nephews have one each, that was one ****ing annoying Christmas!

Taking my neice and nephew to the Build a Bear Workshop on Wednesday. Retardly expensive but they love the place so muggins here is buying.

Creative or learning? I like the iPad first gen idea, get her parents blessing first but it can be used for games and learning.

I do this for my nieces. I walk into a toy store and the thought is "What would annoy my sister the most"

Have a browse on the Argos website under the Arts & Crafts section. Girls that age like creative stuff like making stickers, friendship bracelets, badges etc

Edit: if you get her something like a 3DS, be prepared for her to expect a similar/better/more expensive present the following year. Why would you spend so much money on a 6 year old? Great idea if you want her to grow up spoilt.

Don't go the video game route. Getting kids into video games is probably the worst thing you can do in all honesty.

Something outgoing like a scooter is a nice idea, a few posts above.

Yawn. My kids now 5 & 7 have been playing video games since they were old enough to hold a controller. Absolutely NOTHING wrong in letting kids play video games.

As for making them lazy, they both jump around so much, that it makes me dizzy. My 5yr old now can literally kick my ass at SF IV. He's good enough to go online and hold his own. He gets an amazing work out in the process, given the amount of jumping around he does.

If they're not playing video games, they're doing their homework, or swimming in the pool, solving puzzles on their iPad's or playing on their bikes, scooters or at the park. I wish i had all the toys they have when i was growing up.

Henceforth, I'm referring to it as the "anti-tank gun".

The last present I bought for my niece was this talking pink "chat and mosh" Moshi monsters thing. For the most part, it just jibbers nonsensically, but one line it comes out with with disturbing clarity is "A kick, a kick, a kick in de balls!"

I just hope she doesn't get any ideas.

If she is smart enough, try Checkers. I did that and every time I go to see my cousin she wants to play Checkers with me. Get a nice solid wooden set.

edit: i'd also agree that electronic toys at 6 isn't great, stuff like connect 4, guess who, battleships etc. are much better. I think everyone should have played games like that.
