I'm looking at going away later this year :) I went on my first trip on my own earlier in the year and think i might have caught the travel bug. This trip should be over a weekend, and give me 3 full days wherever i am. I'll be own my own, and would like to go somewhere interesting.

So where should i go? I'd like the keep the price down as my last trip was ever so slightly expensive. So i'm looking at a max of £700 inc all spending money. I'd rather ignore all the normal holiday places, and go somewhere a bit different... but i'm not that ready for anything too adventurous just yet :) My list so far is like this:
- NYC
- Reykjavik
These two don't really meet the economical holiday bit, but they meet all the other requirements.
- Edinburgh
Maybe a bit close to home, but somewhere i'd really like to visit soon.
Any other suggestions would be great!

Thanks

new york seems abit far to go just for 3 days, most of that would be travelling!

How about flying to paris for the weekend, spend abit of money on yourself there then come back :)?

I was going to say Paris, or how about have a look at some other capital cities - Prague, Tallinn, Warsaw, Moscow, Kiev...somewhere a bit more out there.

tel aviv

Prague or Barcelona would be nice for a few days.

With somewhere like Tel Aviv it would be more expensive flightwise, it's somewhere that is better for a week or more.

I'd recommend Barcelona, really enjoyed it when I went last year.

The idea for any trip is 3 full days there. So i'd have a day either side for the travelling :) eg. fly on friday, fly out on tuesday evening.

Oh and i've been to France/Spain enough for now thanks :D they're also a bit close and something i can do anytime. I want to do things i'm unlikely to be able to do when i'm older.

Ahh...hmm....Go to LA then :p

There is always amsterdam lol ;)

You could try Brugge, we went last weekend and it was fantastic - the whole town is enclosed in medieval city walls surrounded by a moat. All the buildings are medieval and look really nice. The food is great and of course theree is the chocolate! It's easily driveable from England - only 45 mins from the Channel Tunnel.

Have been to Reykjavik - I'm sure you've heard how expensive it is! The island is lovely but it will cost - a pizza cost us around £20 each. If you do go then don't miss the Blue Lagoon it's a surreal, but incredible place.
