If i got a 3008 (2560*1600)

Would i still have the same FPS in games if i played 1920*1200 windowed? or would it reduce?

e8400 @ 4ghz
4870 512mb
asus p5q pro
Kingston 4gb ram
SSD (dont think this makes a diff)

Little point in getting that monitor if you're not going to run it at its native resolution.

If you mean your playing at 1920*1200 at the moment then your fps would be the same if you played at 1920*1200 windowed.

What i mean is i have a 4870 512mb, i would love that kind of real estate in a screen but dont want to spend a **** load upgrading GPU right now as well as monitor

So if i window my game i will maintain my current fps?

Sounds good, however as nice as having that screen would be i think im going to save that for my dream pc budget, right now im probs going to buy another samsung 2443BW... WHEN ITS IN STOCK (hint hint overclockers)

Even if you don't window it and allow the monitor to stretch the 1920*1200 image it won't effect FPS. However you will obviously not be running at native res so the image won't be as sharp/good on the monitor.

But it would be negligible, you would not even notice it. It would be fine... but I would think twice about the 3008. I was thinking of getting the same screen but have read a few articles about there apparent high failure rate.

Consider the Samsung SyncMaster 30 inch too mate.......
