If i move to england will it be less brutal than scotland

Not that I don't agree that the OP should indeed move if it's affecting him that badly, but I'm sick and tired of people throwing this particular comment around.

If you're in such a financial position that you can just decide to move home on a whim, then I envy you. I really do.

Then get a new job somewhere else in the country?

Why move there if you didn't do your research?

Peoples lifes differ, but the just I get is the guys single. ( I mean no kids) and young. It isn't that hard to look for new jobs, or at least make an effort to do so rather than just moan about it. Do something.

Getting a new job elsewhere in the country has no bearing on the ability to simply up and move home? Granted, the OP may be a young buck living with parents or something (in that case, fair dos, he has the freedom to jump ship and do something), but in most cases - and I'm not saying this is one of them - people throw your initial comment around like it's the easiest thing in the world.

If someone owns their home it needs to be marketed, they need to sell it at a price that not only avoids loss, but creates clear profit to deposit elsewhere. That's not to mention the costs of physically moving all of your stuff. If you're in a bad situation such as negative equity in a bad area etc. you're screwed. That stuff weighs heavily on a LOT of people, and I find if exceptionally arrogant when someone says "Well, just move?"
