if i update the bios on my mates ASROCK 775dual 880 PRO board will windows still boot ?

i had a night mare of a time installing wiondows ontot he machine bacausse the SATA wasnt recognised and drivers had to be installed at the start ( F6 stylee)

need to update the bios because i think its causeing problems when tryign to capture video

should be fine

i updated the bios on my nf3 and it booted windows up no problems after i set all the values in the bios again.

this is iopna cheapo VIA chipset mind...
after i put the PC togeather the drive WASNT recognised int he bios... onl when pressing F6 at windows setup.
so im afraid that uin updating the bios that it will un-recognise the sata drive and wel be back to square one

This is exactly the same as high-end motherboards.

If you read the release notes that come with the BIOS, see if it upgrades the SATA Chip on the mobo.
If it does, then you will need to reinstall windows, providing the new SATA driver.

If it does not upgrade the SATA Chip - Then no changes need made to the current OS.
