Both phones you've listed as unlockable are perfectly unlockable by the legitimate channels (ie the network provider). I assume you mean you want something you can get unlocked with dodgy software....
 
Am I entitled to ask the provider to give me the unlock codes?

I have and XDA at the moment and want to move away from this kind of phone, got a Razr since then but want something that plays music well enough.

You can get the code from the provider, normally for a charge (£20 with Orange).
 
Dolph, I just spoke with Orange and they said I can unlock only at 11months and 1 day into the contract, then they can give me the unlock code. Are you aware of any way round this? Cheers.

Not even sure why they said that unless it's changed in the last couple of days...
 
So I rang back and was told it was completely fine and placed the order for the unlock code. Also, I already have the k800 in my possesion but had asked to send it back as I need to have an unlocked phone, as I now found out I could get the unlock code I told her I wanted to keep it but was told it was too late and I had to post it back. This second chap said don't even worry about it and that loads of people change their minds...guess it just depends who you talk to...thanks for your help.
