iGoogle/google reader

Just having a play around with igoogle, looks a good concept. I overlooked this before but once you add your rss feeds it works well.

Could someone explain what the difference is between this and google reader? Is google reader solely for rss feeds?

iGoogle is a customised home page that allows you to have a variety of "apps" on it which remain constant wherever you log in from.
