il2 1946 open gl fps unplayable on win7 64bit

as above but other people say it fine for them.my mate has same problem and other people as well .
fps average about 30 but its all slightly juddery. on directx getting up to 250 fps and silky smooth but i would like to use open gl because the xtra eye candy is only available under open gl, it ran perfect on xp in my system in open gl .
any ideas please

More information would be a start, system specs? IL2 version? Peripherals? IL2 settings? GFX card settings?

basically loads of people have the same problem regardless of there hardware, what is similar is they are all using win7 64bit and il2 1946 open gl.

Works perfectly here and I'm running W7x64 and openGL in IL2 1946 and I've not seen any comments to the contrary on either SimHQ or 1C's forum either, where are these loads of people having the same problems?
