i was just sorting my daughters savings out and there was a lot of 2p's
i wondered what 1million 2p's would look like

2p's are 26mm wide and 2mm high

how big would the box of coins be

(this is not a joke type of question i actually want a real answer lol)

well that would depend on how you stacked them.

single file would look like a long tube of smarties if that helps you :p

sorting her savings out at 12.30am on a saturday morning lol. here we go stacked one on top of the other

0.002 x 1,000,000 in (metre)

2000m

So about 2 and a half of Dubai's tallest buildings :O

1.106 x 1.106 x 1.106 metres then.

Edit - oops! carried the decimal too far. Fixed now.

The maths goes:

cube root 1000000 = 100 (coins on each side of the cuboid)
which = a box with sides 2600mm x 2600mm x 200mm

2600 x 2600 x 200 = 1352000000
cube root 1352000000 = 1106mm on each side of a perfect cube (or 1.106 metres)

A box 104cm wide, 132cm long and 100cm high.

Simples.

she's only 2 and she's not going sleep for some reason and wanted to play with her money box

Simples.

10coins wide, 10 coins long, 10 coins high (1,000 coins) = 26cm x 26cm x 2cm

Increase the height by 50 (50,000 coins) = 26cm x 26cm x 100cm

Increase the width by 4 (200,000 coins) = 104cm x 26cm x 100cm

Increase the depth by 5 (1,000,000 coins) = 104cm x 132cm x 100cm
