One of me sitting on it with the jacket and helmet I bought. Looks bigger becuase I am only 5 ft 6 haha.

Can't wait to sit my cbt next month after my birthday and get on the road! How much is a cbt tho? I will be using this bike to sit it so wont it be cheaper?

Its a lot faster than I was expecting. Practiced round the drive in a circle both ways then in a figure of eight for a day then went out on the back roads for a while following my dad. very comfortable to ride compared to all the pitbikes/trial bikes ive had. Got 65 out of it no problem but didnt go any faster becuase the road was quite bumpy :) .

Proud Cruiser owner haha.

might want to edit out your number place from 150e.jpg after just admitting to doing something illegal... probably nothing to worry about, but better to be safe than sorry :)

Why would they advise me on not using my own?

Insurance unless you can get some on a provisional, tbh it's not worth the bother for a days riding, especially when some other leaner misses the brakes and piles into you

Nice bike, great leaner, I had a Varadero 125 which has the same engine, bullet proof and utterly reliable

As above. Depends on your testing centre though. If the price to "rent" a bike is quite a considerable more then maybe. But I think in my case it was about £10 more to use one of theirs.

Tbh there's nothing to lose by using one of their bikes. The cost includes everything from petrol to insurance, so it's better to go for it. Also reduces your care factor should anything happen during the course. :)

As above, certainly the hardest part of the CBT if I remember is the figure of 8. (especially if it's really windy) ;)

I think I will be fine tho. Ive been practicing on private land and I find them quite easy.

The problem you'll come up against is insurance... it'll cost you 100s extra just for that one day... really not worth it unless you can find a company that won't bend you over

Ive been quoted £350-£400 for a year (I said i was a month younger and just passed my cbt) How would it cost 100s more after that day? Do I have to get insurence first then go do my cbt? Those are the last two things I need becuase I have got my Provisional, helmet jacket gloves and the bike came with a full years Mot and road tax. I cant afford trousers and boots at the moment, so jeans and pair of cats will have to do untill I make more money in july.

Because I imagine those quotes assumed you had already passed your CBT matey... and like you said... to get that quote you stated you have already passed it... that would invalidate the insurance.

And I don't mean it would cost 100s more after that day.

Just that... if you arrange insurance before passing your CBT (and they're aware of this ;)), the price you'll be quoted will be significantly higher than after you've passed your CBT. Of course, you can adjust this after completing the CBT, however you'll lose money in the process due to their admin fees.

And that'll be significantly more than the £10 extra it *may* cost you to use their bikes... the place I did it, allowed you to use your own bike if you could sort all the appropriate paperwork and get it there somehow, but it was the same price... so I just used theirs. It would have been nice to do it on my RS125, but it wasn't worth it.

Insurance companies are not fun to deal with...

Most insurance will "assume" that you've already completed your CBT and if you haven't... you won't be insured. Also... how will you get it to the CBT in the first place? You can't ride it there yourself...

The CBT effectively 'approves' your provisional license... so at the minute, you don't have a provisional license at all as far as the law is concerned.

Of course, as soon as you've completed the CBT... you can head straight home and jump on your own thing straight away!

Hope that makes sense matey :)

Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking that the insurence cost was included in the cbt even if you use your own bike. My uncle could have took it to the cbt center for me and I would either go on the back or in a car behind as he has a full licence. I hope it is around £100 then as I wont have any more than that becuause ive put the rest aside for insurence.

Thanks for the info tho.
