I have an idea which roads you are speaking about 
Yeah, non-main busses (so all 3 digit busses) don't pass frequently. The drivers are mostly cool, but you always get that one crazy driver!
Well, people complain because they don't stick to schedule and stuff, which partly is true. I find them pretty good though. People complain about everything though The night busses are terrible though!!
Thats why I said when tourists come in summer, it gets interesting Always that tourist who shows some extra skin, to the delight of all the man on the beach

Tbh, the country has so much stuff to look at, that to look at them all, I think it would take you around 2 weeks. Most of them are like historical places, which won't interest everyone, but still attractions.
Well, not going to Gozo means you should come again and go to Gozo, no?
