So I have been considering an iMac for ages but it is 190 days in to an average of 220 days refresh and the advice at mac rumours is 'Buy only if you need it - Approaching the end of a cycle'.

All I can say is GRRRRRR. Hope they announce something today!

Yah I'm not holding my breath - shame really. I can't bring myself to buy in to the current one when i get the feeling it will be refreshed in the not too distant future, and also can not wait for too long either.

The i7 is what i want as i want to do video editing and encoding on it.

HIGHLY Doubt it will be i7, infact I'd put money on it, far too close to what the Mac Pro offers.

Secondly, you will be getting a slightly quicker Core i5/Arrandale than the Macbook/Pros get.

I was looking at this a week ago:

2.2Ghzish, 2.93Ghz Turbo, 2 cores, HT, 2 channel is what im expecting to buy... [in a macbook pro]

Edit: Further looking into this... You will almost certainly get the Mobile Core i7. 1.6 or 1.8ghz Base, 6 or 8mb cache, 2.8 or 3.06ghz Turbo Boost. Dual channel mem.
