iMac i7 2.93Ghz, 120Gb SSD, 2Tb, 16Gb, 1Gb 5750....

Not trying to do a peeing up the wall competition as I thought an i7 iMac would be a lot quicker than my MP but I just ran this on my 2 year old Mac Pro. No idea if it's slower after being turned on and used since this morning but managed:

My brand new 27" i3 iMac at work only gets 5900!

I noticed you had WoW up there. Would you be kind enough to do a quick demo of how well it runs with everything on full whack in native res? Maybe some Dalaran and Wintergrasp with a bigish FPS counter up?

The mac client has a decent built in video recorder for this sort of thing.

I'm looking into buying a similar spec mac for myself for Christmas and I was really interested to see how well it does, and there is relatively few youtube videos for this.

I get the impression that Geekbench doesn't test the new cores to the full, I'd expect Spit's iMac to be somewhat faster than my MP which is now nearly three years old but I just got a Geekbench score of 9940. Spit's memory figures are significantly faster than mine but I get more on CPU.

Don't your MP's have dual quad core xeon's? Should kick mine in encoding.

I'm really pleased with the general performance. It runs nearly silent and is just so neat on the desk with one wire!

Will have a go at wow for you.

This is running at 2560x1440 full screen.
Max detail, shadows on fair, 4xAA and 16x Ansiotropic. Sunshafts on High.

Runs great, anyone wanting this machine for WOW will not be disappointed. It runs far better than my 2009 model at this res.

Shadows in WoW are the killer rather than sunshafts. I think the reason is, with shadows, it performs more volumetric processing.

It's really a pity the Mac doesn't do 3D out of the box (only the later GPUs are capable of driving 120Hz). A mate plays in 3D and WoW really makes the most of it.

Here is a new vid of WOW. This is after installing 10.6.5 which enables ultra settings.

This is running the best graphics available for WOW on the mac with 2xAA:
