Good to hear^ Are you in a soft or hard water area too?

@mrk we had one and it seemed good, it didn't last long due to our hard water sadly :(

Hmm how hard is your water? I'm in a hard water area too so would be interested to know if it's similar to here!

What does the little balls do?

There are 3 types of balls (lololol).

The head nozzles are tiny, this is what increases the pressure, behind the nozzle plate is an insert that directs the water through the plate at a higher rate. You get a spare plat in the box too which you can see in my pic.

The balls are mineral stones and filter out hard water removing chlorine, heavy metals, dirt etc. My skin does feel genuinely smoother so will be interesting to see long term effects assuming the hard water here doesn't cause any issues.

Don't be dartht!

:D

It's a rear hub for my bike. Old one has eaten its bearings so this is a considerable upgrade.

Something else arrived today, funny story first though. I first bought this exact shower head from Showery.co.uk couple months ago but after waiting 5 weeks and nothing turning up I did some digging and found out they ship from China even though they call themselves British

I sent an email to their official showery UK address for a refund of my £30 and got a Chinese signed email back from someone with a Gmail address

Got my money back and randomly yesterday saw this on Amazon for under £13 (after applying a 15% discount they currently have on Prime) as needed a shower head holder due to mine breaking.

Had a shower with it and have to say it is superb. The rainfall mode is my new favourite thing. A nice mist of water, and using less water now too as the taps don't need to be turned up as much whilst still getting more pressure from the head.

Can I replace the head on my power shower with that?

A Harvey Water Softener is a lovely purchase. Our previous house (and now the new one) was in a hard water area and the softener made a huge difference. We haven't got round to installing the new one yet as it's about £340 to do so. Unfortunately I don't have any plumbing skills and I can't seem to get anyone to do it cheaper.
Thats just the installation cost, isn't it? How much is the unit itself?

A few bike parts slowly coming in now that my wife's bike got the all clear from the carbon specialists and I can start to rebuild.

I say slowly as I should have ordered sooner, but I was expecting a repair. Plus I made three separate orders as I kept forgetting parts, only ordered shift cables in this order for example when I also needed brake cables.

Interesting.
This seems to suggest the actual cost, direct from them always includes an installation fee and works out around £2K.

That person appears to have overpaid. However, I did just have a look at our original quote and we did have to pay for installation, so that was wrong. We were supposed to pay £1,124 plus VAT for the water softener, and then £291 plus VAT for installation = £1,698 inc. VAT.

I must admit, I've got this all a bit wrong - we probably bought it 4 years ago and my memory is awful. I did manage to get the price of the whole thing down a bit, but I think we paid £1,500 total in the end. We got the 3 month trial, didn't pay anything initially. At the end of the three months I said I wanted to give it back - the price of it ended up feeling a bit overwhelming at the time, so they dropped the price a little bit so that they didn't have to remove it.

I do think it's worth it though, we've always enjoyed having it. I see it as a long term purchase.
