Yes, I had a cheapy one from Chine for a tenner, i bent a couple of bits and the magnet fell out of the driver making it useless

Nope, no erase, it is very unforgiving if you make a mistake. I never knew (this is one from the sixties) you set margins so it stops typing - very clever (I though it was broken

I was going to say you could use tipex as well but didn't look nice in the end result.
