There are a total of 90 levels with 10 difficulty ratings. The story is told at the start of each level and it segmented into chapters so there will be cutscenes once you get further in.

Personally I think it's fantastic, and that's just from the demo. The demo is quite beefy allows 30 levels and the 10 difficulty ratings. You can also get custom levels.

The lines I just think of them as space routes personally for more immersion. You click to hit the enemy closest and you use "cache" as a resource to buy "towers" the towers are actually souls you use to destroy the enemy.
