Quick question for you guys.

Work for company where we have a large on-prem Exchange 2010 environment, we have a couple of other companies we own where their IT is not fully integrated into ours yet.

One of these has SBS2011 I believe we have moved their email from the SBS server to our on-prem exchange all works fine, we have autodiscover setup etc.

However some of the Outlook clients at the site are reverting to the SBS server for email in server settings, guessing something to do with internal Auto discover?

We plan to stop and disable the exchange services on the SBS box, will that cause issues with anything else on SBS and will that resolve hte autodiscover issue?

Its been many years since I have dabbled with SBS

Thanks

Kimbie

re exchange it should'nt be an issue, what i do remember though is make sure you dont have any other sbs's on the same domain as they will communicate and tell 1 to shut down.

Cheers for the replies.

Will get around to shutting down Exchange on it.

We have no other SBS on the network here at the main site all 2012R2 DC's we have yet to put 1Gb link in to the new site

I've not done it personally, but locally Exchange will use SCP Autodiscover, shutting down Exchange might not be enough. Have a quick google for removing SCP Autodiscover entries from the local domain.

I know you can override Outlook behavior to ignore SCP using regedit, but better to get rid of it properly if you are never using the local exchange again.
