Impressive Football records?

Spurs last night qualified for the last 16 of the CL. In doing so they set a record of being the only team to have ever scored 2 goals or more in every single game.

Add to the fact they scored 18 goals and conceded 11, aswell as beating Young Boys 6-3 in the qualifier and that's 38 goals in 8 CL games. I think there's 2 or 3 missed penalties in there aswell. Averaging almost 5 goals a game I'm sure there's another record there somewhere!

Steve Finnan is, I believe, still the only player to play in all four professional leagues in England, the European Championships, the World Cup, the Champions' League, and the UEFA Cup.

No side has ever successfully defended their Champions League trophy since it underwent its format changes, but Samuel Eto did it on an individual basis with two different clubs. Jose Mourinho could be the first manager if he wins it with Real this summer.

If Jose wins it this year he would also gain a record unlikely to be broken anytime soon. Winning manager of CL with 3 different clubs.

Norwich are the only english team to ever beat Bayern Munich at the home. That was certainly true until they moved to the new stadium.. I don't think anyone english has beaten them there either?

Brad Friedel has never missed 6 or so seasons of premiership games in a row
including spells with Blackburn and Villa - I'd say that is pretty impressive

QPR and Manchester United are the only 2 teams in the country unbeaten in the league both home and away

As for Real - I think Barca will beat them at home and take away Jose record

p.s didn't charlton beat Chelsea at home on Penalties in coca cola cup during Jose reign?

Jamie Carragher has scored as many goals for Spurs as he's scored for Liverpool in the Premier League.
The more impressive stat is that Carragher has the highest scoring record against Liverpool for any English player other than Frank Lampard, although I'm not sure if Rooney has bustled into that record yet.

So what is everyone's favourite footballing record???

For those who are unaware Jose Mourinho (The Special One) still has an unbeaten league home record stretching to 143 matches unbeaten. That's 38 matches (W36–D2) with Porto, 60 matches (W46–D14) with Chelsea, 38 matches (W29–D9) with Internazionale and 7 matches (W7-D0) with Real Madrid.

Wasnt there a Chelsea CC game or something that JM lost at home due to pens in the middle of that run?

edit - ok its a league record, fair enough

The treble 1999

The only record that matters :)
