Impressive Football records?

Only non-league winner of the FA Cup - Spurs! 1901

Ashley Cole has won more FA Cups than any other player - 6 while Ian Rush hols the league cup record at 5.

Very unimpresive stat - only 4 English clubs have won the inter-two-bob Cup - Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle and Villa

Except for QPR you're 100% correct. Your stat is 2 days out of date.

statistics are like miniskirts in what they reveal is tantalizing but yet what they hide is crucial

QPR were terrible on Friday night tough game tomorrow though away at the yarkshire We don't allow that word on here!!!

The Inter-two-bob Cup is amazing, isn't it awarded for a certain amount of Air Miles racked up during a UEFA qualifying season or something? :p

Champions League 2007-2008:

"For the first time in Champions League history, a nation's clubs (England's) were only eliminated by each other. Arsenal were eliminated by Liverpool, who were beaten by Chelsea, who were defeated by Manchester United in the final."

A quick google maps says Fulham are the closest. Craven Cottage actually backs onto the river. So err, yeah, nevermind on that stat.

More a "did you know" than an actual stat, but the FA's original offside rule didn't allow ANY players to be ahead of the ball when it was played, regardless of how many opposition players were there. Essentially it was the same as rugby's offside.

Only lasted three years, but how weird must that have made football. Imagine a game under that rule now!

No through ball.

Only crosses.

so if you shoot and it isn't on target then it's offside?
