Impulse Buys And Why It Makes Me Die Inside

Impulse buying is so last season, I have taken throwing money down the drain to its logical conclusion and on payday draw out 25% of my pay and then literally push it through a sewer grate to be dispersed accordingly.

I never impulse buy, this can also be considered as a downfall of mine because all that time spent researching the item in question, I can end up undecided or just feel as if I wasted a lot of time.

I think the reason for this is that I still rely heavily on parents for buying me items. So I don't like to spend a lot of their money unnecessarily.

I'M 12 AND I'M ANNOYED MY SISTER IS SPENDING MONEY THAT I WANT TO SPEND!

cry moar.

You lost the point. Even I feel I need to facepalm when i see people impulse buying, and its not even my money.

I close to never impulse buy. In fact, I have no idea when was the last time I bought something for me (except food and drink). Honestly the last thing was in 2011. If I did buy something, then it probably was very cheap, like less than 15 pounds, and it was not an impulse buy.

dont impulse buy unless i see an incredible deal i absolutely cant say no to (maybe once or twice a year)

I'm another for the non impulse buying camp, but I'd qualify it with purchase above say £30-£50. Cheap things I will buy on impulse, but often find myself torn in the shop for a good few minutes :p

I only impulse buy low value goods. Eg, I walk past a Tesco and think "I suddenly want a Dr.Pepper and something sweet"

Apart from that, I don't really impulse but anything high value unless it's something I've wanted for a long time, but couldn't be bothered.

in the last couple of months, a 670 which I have not regretted, and a £5k car which required building. Recently I have thought wtf was I doing but it will be worth it in the long run :)

Which car? I didn't see anything in Motors.

A VW Golf.....I was going to replace my ST220 with a new car for myself. Yet as things turned out (as they often seem to in the Castiel household) the wife ended up with a new Car and I got her one....but as hers is a rather nice Range Rover, I ain't complaining too much...:)

Besides the Golf is surprisingly good. I'll sort some pics out.

I think in time I will own 1 of everything on amazon. Just yesterday I was about to click buy on some digital calipers when the thought "wait, what the **** do you need these for" struck me.

My sister impulse buys all the time, doesn't even use the thing. Today's impulse buy from her was some fake raybands or whatever they are... £20 down the drain. She uses my parents money and the money she spent this year could get me an i7 and a 670 (for example) :(
Just a rant, but what impulse buys have you 'committed' recently
The only one I have done this year was some peanut butter

You're complaing she bought some £20 glasses to shield her eyes from the sun as an impulse buy.

Yet you think upgrading the processor and gfx on an already very fast pc by spending nearly £600 (30x more than her sunglasses) is a better use for the money.

Get some perspective boy!

Bought an airsoft gun recently, impulse buy, got rid of it.

In the past RC Nitro plane, thinking it would be an easy to do and not so expensive hobby, I was wrong, sold, replaced with an electric RC plane, again thinking the same, sold it!
