Impulse Buys And Why It Makes Me Die Inside

I've calmed down a lot recently, but that's because i'm trying to pay off everything i owe as quick as i can so i'm debt free, then i'm going to go part time at work and enjoy living life a bit more and spending more time with the missus and kids. Being a chef i don't get much of that at the moment :(

Count me as another calculating purchaser, i cant by anything without spending atleast a day researching every alternative. Though now i'm working full time it's much easier to justify spending a few bob now and again.

my main regular impulse buys are :

Chocolate chip Brioche
Milky bar
Mars bar
Boost bar
Crumpets
Maccy D's
Pc games on steam
Computer parts
and i bought 2 mountain bikes the other day. when i already have a bmx and a jump bike i converted to single speed.

basically if there is money in my wallet ... it goes lol

oooooh and i forgot Kopparburg Mixed Fruit. best drink ever

... Just saying

These two words bodged together as a sentence should be obliterated from our language.

I bought a new BBQ about two months ago on a whim and have managed to use it twice thanks mostly to the weather. No point.

Smoke matches and smoke pellets:

I don't even have a fireplace or flue to smoke out... Or a garden/yard/balcony to use them outdoors. I live in a top-floor flat. What a retard...

Winegums, I'm a complete sucker for them.

I used to be terrible with impulse buys but now we are saving for a mortgage I'm very calculated with what I buy. I have a set amount of money each month (seperate to savings) that I have available to buy bits and pieces/save for bigger things. So this month I bought a new mouse, the rest of the budget will be put aside into my Macbook fund :)

OP I know what you mean about your siblings expenditure, however if they're the youngest sibling you're going to have to accept that it is always going to be this way.

I can't tell you how much countless crap my dad spends on my younger sister and my mum, its beyond ridiculous. Alas it is his money and he's free to spend it as he wishes. I can hardly say I haven't been at the generous end of his bank card.

But when you have them complaining that you live at home still at the age of 23 and they know you've got a stack of post grad debt that's stopping you from moving out you have to wonder what their real priorities are :)

EDIT: oh impulse, spent £15 on a cab last night to take me through a Maccy D's drive through.

The only things I buy on impulse are computer games, everything else I normally do quite a bit of research on. Although saying that I suppose I should really count my classic car as a bit of an impulse buy.

God damn you!!! I soooooo want the black one. Hmpph so very nice and very very tempted. Guess I should be good and save up instead. *sad panda*

My main impulse buy's are steam sales, I just cant help myself :D
