in what area would you want us to pick our preferred car?
are we talking unlimited budget for running costs?

Hmm not too knowledgable on the versions, not the bog standard Skyline/Impreza/Evo, but the "R" versions.

You do realise that a 1999 Skyline GT-R is £30,000 whereas a 1999 Impreza WRX STi Type R is less than £10k, yes?

No, didn't think you did. As a result, this thread sucks.

Specifically, I'll have a 1972 Skyline C110 GTR rolling on Hayashi Street Fins in a 14x9 flavour, ET0, 195/60/14 rubber, minimal ground clearance, and a naturally aspirated RB26 sucking through a sextet of throttle bodies and transmitting through a 5-speed. Straight-through exhaust exiting just in front of the nearside rear wheel...

Not a subaru. I'd much rather have the evo or a skyline, some of the evo's have up to a second off the subaru's 0-60 time. I think the evo mr fq's are stunning, and they are rare as well, which i think is much more desirable, however you don't get that beautiful boxer growl. The skyline, i think thats a different kettle of fish. too large, for my liking, although some of the later models, look very nice, and have stunning performance to boot. personally i'd opt for an evo IV MR FQ-430.
