In the future - fembots

If they have a full blown AI who says they will want to do whatever with you ... and if the have a full blown AI by then they could well have full citizenship rights so if you try and force them then it'd be illegal ....

.... roll forward to GD in a couple of hundred years time with "My Android has dumped me and I am so depressed", "My Android has left me for my toaster" etc threads .... :)

there's a very big difference between good situational AI/judgement making and sentience/free thinking.

plus it would be programmed to serve you specifically.

just the same way you hve instincts to reproduce/eat/buy mmore crap it's instincts would be to love and serve you.

It would want to be with you.

But that would depend on whether it had a limited AI or a full independent AI ... personally I'd prefer the latter .... way more interesting ...

even with full sentient AI it's instincts would still be to "love" you and as such it still would.

It would be like you deciding you want to become celibate sell all your stuff and live in a nest.

It just wouldn't be in it's nature.

Doing that isn't a good idea ... that's where things tend to breakdown in scifi. The androids have a built in urge to behave in a way, but are fully sentient, and an undercurrent of resentment builds up over this leading to robot rebellion and things going the way of the pear ....
