In Turmoil

My cousin had a nasty accident mountainbiking - landing directly on the top of his head. He was in a very serious condition and at first it looked like he may suffer permanent damage but he managed to make a full recovery. The point is that the human body, though fragile, has an incredible capacity to heal itself. I send your stepfather my best wishes and hope that he makes a full recovery.

My Step Father is currently in a stable condition, but he's under sedation and in intensive care. The hospital has yet to detail the extent of the procedure, as it's not something they're prepared to discuss over the phone for confidentiality reasons. We're not permitted to see him until tomorrow.

I pity my brother at the moment, as it was his 18th birthday today, and it's far from what he envisaged. His birthday will forever be a reminder, regardless of the outcome. :(

I find it a bit odd that they're not allowing you to see him.

Fingers crossed that he recovers quickly.

Thoughts are with you and your family :(

My Step Father suffered severe head trauma after falling down the stairs early this morning. I wasn't present myself, but from what my Mother described, he was found unconscious and in a pool of blood. I'm not sure of the extent of his injuries, but I do know he's being transferred to a hospital in London, and has to undergo surgery to alleviate pressure on the brain. The single greatest concern is the fact that he's not responding.
My Mother was prohibited from travelling with him, and so is having to return home until further notice.

I feel completely powerless at this moment in time. I'm stuck at work until this evening. :(

Not nice at all. Few years back received a phone call telling me mother in law fell down some stairs at a hotel due to poor lighting and inadequate hand rail etc. She was in a coma for a week before dying. Hope its not as worse as this.

Very sorry to hear, hope he pulls through and without any permanent damage.

If I were you I'd leave work for now and be with your family. I'm sure it can be straightened out with your boss later given the circumstances.
