Incredible Performance from On Board APU.

So basically, laptops and budget onboard gaming -> AMD
Rest -> Intel
? :)

Job well done to AMD on the graphics performance. I hope they are gonna do better on the CPU side as well...

I don't doubt that a 2500K/2700?3570K etc will still be better computationally, but can you picture a small little case, a small ITX FM2 socket motherboard, this chip, a little PSU and some RAM and drives, no discrete GFX card needed, all hooked up to a TV and able to easily play games, sweet:)

Be great for a steambox with their new tv thing.

hmm interestign lappy specs :-

they had slight difference tests it seems ... but wont a lappy that spec cost a good £600 ? you dont see many with blu ray drives .. and those that do in most retail stores cost a lot more than £400 quid :(

Good to see AMD getting something right, these look like the obvious candidates for HTPC/ITX systems and lower-end laptops.

However, it seems suspicious (to an old cynic like me) that they haven't released any CPU data, while trumpeting their iGPU performance. I'm sure it will be better than Bulldozer, but it needs to be a lot better to give Intel some competition in the desktop market.

NB : For non-gamers, any iGPU is sufficient (to play a 1080p movie or surf), but to gamers no iGPU is up to the task - an Intel CPU + discrete GPU is still the best bet. AMD's focus on iGPU could push them out of the desktop market completely.
