I'm used to having home cooked tikka masala's and korma's but me andthe mrs are going to get an indian takeaway and just wondering what is nice. I'm all up for trying new things and i've only ever had a madras and a Lamb Biryani before with Keema rice and chicken pakora to start.

Anyone recommend anything?

Andy

Depends how hot you like to go mate.

Personally i like a nice madras but no hotter than that really, but sometimes i am in the mood for something nicely flavoured and spicy but not too hot so on those occasions i go for a Methi or Sag dish.

Mrs Zootfloot is a fan of Dupiaza and Rogan Josh.

We both like keema naan's, Mushroom pilau and usually for starters the old traditional Bhaaji's or Tikka skillet things.

I like a nice dry Madras with vegetable curry myself. But if it's a good Indian restaurant, i'll go for a Phaal with vegetable curry. Unfortunatly nowdays, not many of them do Phaal's anymore.

There is only 1 takeaway in wigan that I really like, all the rest just can't keep up with it,

I usually get the chicken tikka masala with pilau rice and a keema naan,

But if I want some spice I go for the chicken tikka jal frezi

Chicken bhuni all the way baby.

ps. you will never get good food from a takeaway. You need to go to a proper restaurant like Nawaab International in Levenshulme, Manchester :)

Chicken Tikka Bhuna is worth a try, very tasty and not hot. If there is a pimento dish on the menu get it! amazing. Garlic & Corriander nan bread is also awesome with mushroom pilau rice. Sides - poppadums with lime pickle, mint raita, onion salad and mango chutney. Bombay potato is also good. Enjoy...
