In a long-awaited announcement, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg revealed today that the fourth installment of Indiana Jones will begin production in June 2007. Harrison Ford returns in his role as the daring Dr. Jones for the new adventure. The film will be produced by Lucasfilm Ltd., directed by Steven Spielberg and released by Paramount Pictures throughout the world in May 2008.

I just hope it's not a crappy CG filled wonderblunder, however I have faith Spielberg will do a great job, as his recent films have all been great, in my opinion.

Don't know whether to :D or :(

IMO, the Last Crusade was the perfect ending to an excellent trilogy and I don't want the fourth film to ruin the Indiana Jones name. Spielberg isn't the force he once was and Lucas seems more interested in raping films for all they're worth. He's definitely a man that thinks style is more important than substance and that doesn't fill me with much confidence. I could have course be completely wrong but given Harrison Fords age and the length of time they've taken to complete the script I seriously doubt they'll manage to produce another amazing film. Having said that, it'll be a box office hit and probably one of the most profitable films of the decade which sadly shouldn't be the priority when continuing such a popular trilogy.

Woo - I'm looking forwards to this one. The original trilogy were, and still are, my favourite films. I'll definitely go and see this one in the cinemas. @ MookJong for calling Last Crusade a kiddy's film - it was awesome.

Excellent trilogy? Come on, you've got to admit, Temple Of Doom is pretty crap.

Compared to the other two it's awful as I said in a previous thread but as a standalone film it's quite a good, if not brilliant, action film.

I remember LOVING Temple of Doom as a child, not watched it recently tho. Looking back, I think I enjoy Raiders more now I'm older

Isn't this 4th one about the search for Atlantis?

Was in Empire Magazien a few years back that Atlantis was the probable story line of any future Indy film. I do hope its led more by Spielbergs creativity than Lucas's "Technical brilliance" with CGI

I really liked the trilogy as a kid and I think this could be quite good. I have heard that Connery/Ford had said they wouldn't sign up for a 4th film unless they felt the script was really really good. Also at their ages and considering their careers, they don't need the money so surely by signing up they consider the script to be good enough to convert the trilogy into a quadrology.

Just think....

20 years ago Harrison Ford was finding the Staff of Ra, now he's dating it.

I'm hopeful that it will be good. Expecting that it will be crap though.
