Doing my good deed (cant spell) for the year :)

thanks
Dave

Hand yours in to a local school, they often recycle their cartridges.

And surely the cost of sending you our cartridges would outweigh the benefit of having them recycled?.. :)

lol i can get 50p each forr mine :O

need about 100 a time tho minimum so ill be minted in 30 years time.

I send 2 off at a time and get them both refilled for the cost of 1 compatible cartridge :)

The recycling places have freepost envelopes if you wanted to just send them in anyway.

Then all you need to do is buy 1-litre bottles of ink and your sorted for printing :-) Cheaper, much less waste and better for the environment!

Silver_&_Gold that is one cool setup  Always fancied a Continuous Ink Flow System ;)

Got an Epson R300 myself, but got a great deal on some cartridges a while back so got about 8 boxes of all the colours plus 2 blacks :p

C.I.S.S (Continuous Ink Supply System) The cheapest and most hassle free way too run an ink printer.
Aside from looking like some type of sci-fi alien egg nutrient device, how does it circumvent the need for chipped cartridges?

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but I was looking to buy a iP4200 next week, are they really that bad on ink?

My HP 3820 would last almost a year on full tanks of ink - but then I didn't use it much.

I got the remanufactured tanks for a total of about £28 - that's £28 for a black and colour.

My Canon iP4200 is grumbling because it running low on ink - about 6 months after I bought, if not less. Each tank costs about £10 - bearing in mind, there are 5 five tanks in total (2x black, 3x colour).

I was hoping I could refill - but when buying the Ip4200, I wasn't aware the iP4200 tanks are chipped, and nobody has found a way to "reset" the chips yet.:mad:

Doh! Hit quote, instead of edit! :o

May as well make the most of a double post:

The C.I.S.S carts are clever as the chips in them get reset everytime you switch the printer off and on. (You can also do this with some freeware software if you don't want to have to keep turning the printer off and on when it use's enough ink that would normally require a ink change)

Is it supported on Linux platforms (not that my printer is :()?
