Cool pics, but may I ask why you are after a working PS3 mobo, as if yours went faulty then surely it was still covered under the warranty and a PS3, import or european one would still be in warranty.

Also, I don't think many people will have any spare parts/broken PS3' hanging around as most still have working PS3 or returned them for replacements.

Long story short I couldnt be bothered waiting for Sony to get back to me.

Plus im going to be putting it in a custom case so working or not working i would have voided the warranty any ways.

It developed the fault before i took it out of the case. So me taking it out of the case didnt cause the fault just incase you where all wondering. :)

And im not bothered about losing a free hundred quid. I should be able to get a new mobo in time so im not bothered. :)

why didnt you just take it back too where you bought it .. got a replacement...put the working one in a custom case...

this all seems very silly

tbh I think we may all be guilty of having things broken under warranty but never actually had repaired or just accepted it due to too much hassle/laziness. Granted I have never done it with something as expensive, but I guess it's relative to what you can afford.

btw why does your forum name have speech marks around it? Always wondered...

Or did you say can it be changed to "andy" and they took you litteraly with " and all? lol

Luckily the way my PS3 is it only looks dusty when you have light shining directly at it, would be nice to be less dust loving though.

I can't help but wish they changed the font on the PS3 case too. :p

Going to make some kind of custom acrylic/perspex case.

Not giving away too much as it will be a surprise.

Reckon you could find a way of getting the Blu-Ray drive to work in a PC?

I was thinking about doing that but its in some silly ribbon format, I have no idea. I would have to contact Sony about it probabilly.
